Having founded a professional garden installation company, The Promised Landscapes in Edinburgh, and from working closely with clients and garden designers, Luke began to discover an untapped interest in contemporary in-situ concrete features. 

This interest and subsequent client demand arose from a wish to move away from mass produced pieces to ones that in their design, quality, and composition, reflected individual surroundings, style, and personality.

Using his technical ability, and eye for detail, Luke started to work on and deliver inspirational garden products ranging from concrete outdoor kitchens, and floating effect steps to contemporary planters. Thanks to his artisanship and skill each of these pieces brought life and flair to clients modern or traditional outdoor space. 

From there his passion has continued to grow and has now led him to design and create pieces not only for the garden but for commercial and home settings through the establishment of Concretion. 

A self-confessed problem-solver, who prefers solutions over obstacles, Luke’s initial concern moving into this new design environment, was how to adapt the underlying weight of concrete to create a finished natural piece suitable for such settings.

His subsequent testing, dedication, and research enabled him to reach a perfect solution creating pieces in which the weight is reduced but not at the expense of the finish, look, or longevity of the product.

Each part of the design process is carried out with absolute professionalism and attention to detail ensuring that clients have the most positive experience and receive the very best in inspirational design for them, and their space. 

Not one to shy away from design difficulties or innovative ideas, he continues to pursue his dream of bringing his own creations, and those of others who share his passion, to life.
